Do they eat aubergines, or just hang out on them for contrast? Wonderful shot.

hi kimberly, they certainly do eat them though i rarely see this round variety we've grown. we are learning lots of new aubergine and courgette recipes with the help of Richard Olney. That's what eating from the garden is all about!
Nice photo montages over on yours by the way!

Hello Ruth,
Is that a grasshopper or a locust?

That is one huge bug, they must be bad for the garden, how do you control them?

Great photos by the way.

We are also harvesting the last of the vegetable garden as well.

If your into aubergines try growing Turkish ones, they look like bright orange striped tomato's. However you need to pick and eat them while they are small if they get larger than 3 inches across the seeds get to big and they have a little bitter taste. The small ones are sweet.
