good reception

shepherd

The shepherd has a good reception down here and, before he walks his herd back up the Ventoux, he is making a few calls while they dine on fresh pastures.

The sky in that first photo is amazing, I thought it was two images photoshopped together.

My eyes, too, were drawn to the sky - because it's BLUE. Is that the colour of sky? Thought it was a slate grey. Sigh. Ruth, tell me, that has to have been your number 1 consideration in your move to Southern France!

well funny you should all mention the sky because it has been grey and raining for AGES and it is so atypical. The sky here is normally AZURE all through the year with heavy rain discreetly pouring in the night if atall. This year is very very strange and that was a rare moment of blue.

yes the light was both of our primary reason to move here, and it is hard to paint landscapes in this!however, I'm getting alot of writing done on my book.

can't work photoshop. Most sophisticated I get is the 'inhance' button folks!

It has rained every day of March here. Even the days it snowed, it rained as well, just to be sure, to be sure.
Enjoy your spring over there.

I'm going to have to start signing in as 'another Ruth' or I'll make your comments box look really nonsensical.
Even more coincidentally, (woo-er), I was also about to say that I find this excellent weather for studying for exams, so it can rain for another 2 months for all I care.
No, not really, I take that back.

I don't know if you're notified that there's a comment, but I do hope you get this one.
If you remember I had written before with questions about Boreades etc... You referred to being in the Concert d'Astree (which I didn't know), and yes I did see you this past July at Alice Tully Hall! I had gotten tickets months in advance when I first saw the concert advertised, with so much Rameau in the programme and with such a masterful ensemble. I was particularly glad that Les Savauges was chosen for the encore -- a great moment in Les Indes Galantes and a great rendition in the concert with the continuo playing pizz. first.
Anyway, I thought you never responded to my first message since I never got a reply e-mail. But I revisited your blog to-day and saw you did respond... oh well.

Cheers

Hector
